King Of The Cue Tournaments and Pool League in Billiard Wholesale Directory
The King Of The Cue! Tournaments & Pool League was conceptualized several years ago, between 1998 and 1999, with the idea of bringing the weekly singles money tournaments to the pool playing masses, not just the highly skilled shooters and money players. Although, I had to put the initial plans on the back burner, I was finally able to start the first tournament in November 2001. The plan was to make the tournaments open to the public but skill level handicapped so that everyone involved would have a reasonable chance of winning. From my experience and from speaking to many other players, one of the biggest complaints was that the same group of highly skilled players won the majority of the tournaments. We always wondered if there was a way to handicap the singles tournaments the way that leagues handicap the team tournaments. Another complaint was about the single or double elimination format, where you could be eliminated from the tournament without ever shooting, depending on the draw and your first one or two opponents. I know this happened to me on more than one occasion. I designed the King Of The Cue! Tournament as a round robin tournament format which means everyone will play five to nine games of pool and have a reasonable chance of winning because of the skill level handicapping system, but you still have to shoot to the best of your ability. You can play to win, but get great practice too! Go to the Tournament Details page for more information about the actual tournament format.
