Gaming Age in Billiard Wholesale Directory
For years, companies have attempted to give a virtual experience to playing pool without those nasty pool hall prices. Fortunately for those who love to play the game, this hasnt been accomplished. One thing that is true about the latest pool game for the Dreamcast, Maximum Pool, you sure cant play folks from all over the US on your home table. This is a much welcome feature in the quickly expanding online console gaming genre. Graphically, Maximum Pool doesnt break any new barriers as far as polish and realism are concerned. Ive easily seen better-looking pool titles on other systems. Your opponents are only shown via FMV, and lack major personality. Frightfully, you even play against a dog that commends you on shots. This was a weird experience to say the least. The shoddy looks dont take away from the game one bit though. Honestly if you buy a pool game for graphics alone, you shouldnt buy a pool game period. Sounds are also on the average side. Featuring a mixture of tunes from Jazz to House, but not really offering a huge variety of songs. Youll be hearing the same tunes again and again. The atmospheric sounds are on key though, supplying nice samples and making one feel like they are in a pool hall. Voices are pretty decent as well, but repeat oh, so, often. The audio does its job, nothing more. Gameplay is very solid indeed. Easy to navigate controls make this game virtually pick up and play. I was clearing tables with the greatest of ease with the helpful pointer guide supplied. Now measuring your shots doesnt narrow you down to being great at geometry. I only wish you could use the mouse, as I played the game on PC and moving around was much friendlier with a mouse. All in all, no real gripes, as the game plays extremely well, making for some fun times. Maximum Pool offers a wide variety of game modes. Twelve game modes in all are offered, including a unique game of Pocket Poker. Honestly though, online mode is where its at. This mode you can enter a lag free realm of online hustlers who have no shame to take you down. This includes PC players as well. I just wish you could select multi-games, instead of one at a time. A tournament wouldve also been very welcome. As is though, itll be a while before the game gets old if you play online. If youre buying it to play offline, it might become stale soon.
